Homeschool Academic Support is 2 day per week program that meets for 1.5 hours a day. It is designed as an intensive yet fun individual academic program, giving your student the opportunity to catch up or advance a grade level in their studies in Language Arts and Math! This program is ideal for students that may have passed a course or two but are not prepared for the next course. It is also ideal for students who want to advance in a subject. Students will be given a diagnostic evaluation to determine gaps in knowledge from the previous year. They will be using state of the art multimedia technology along with traditional instruction. In addition, every student who enrolls in this program will get access to a virtual skill building curriculum throughout the year.
There are so many beautiful things in this world that are natural or can be reused, so why not turn them into art? In this class, our artists will learn about how to take regular objects and turn them into art, all while being ecologically aware!
A materials list will be sent to you so you can start to gather the needed materials. Most of the items will be things you have around the house, egg carton, toilet paper rolls, newspaper etc. You will need to purchase, crayons, scissors, colored pencils, paint, paint brushes & glue.
We will spend the day creating unique pieces of art while learning about the world around us. We will learn how to used recycled materials of all sorts to create; sculptures, 2D images, paintings and much more.
This class is designed to ignite and interest in computer science and empower students to think like a programmer! Students will have a blast learning coding using Scratch and Hour of Code. We will be building games, puzzles, animations, art, mazes, target games, and music programs.
Students will be learning from a live instructor and in a classroom with other students creating a fun and interactive environment. Students will need a Gmail account for this camp and this Gmail will need to be given to the camp instructor in order to set up the online activities.
Students will also work on offline activities as well that will encourage computational thinking skills that will help solidify constructing scripts that sequences events, loops and conditions.
If your student likes graphic novels, we have the perfect class for them where they will learn so many new skills and have a blast at the same time! Have your student learn how to create their very own comic strip or graphic novel. Students will use Google slides to create their amazing projects!
